Janet & her daughter, Grace.

Janet has been a coach at Emeth for over 10 years! Her expertise in dance and choreography are a huge asset to both the gymnasts and crew at Emeth. She loves the energy of the gym, and cares for each girl as if she was her own daughter. Connecting with the minds and hearts of her gymnasts, Janet enjoys bringing out the best in each gymnast.

Janet was a gymnast until she was misdiagnosed with a spinal defect at age 14 and was told to stop gymnastics immediately. This led her to the world of dance. Her favorite event as a gymnast was floor exercise because she felt like that was the place where she could express herself the most.

In her time away from Emeth, Janet is a wife, mother, self-proclaimed “science geek” and “foodie”. Janet teaches various classes in a homeschool co-op and enjoys cooking different ethnic recipes. Janet also dabbles in many different sports including ice-skating, running, golf, tennis, and much more! She still likes to take adult dance classes. An 84-year-old woman in her tap class reminds her that you are never too old to dance!

When Janet’s students become adults, she hopes that they remember the unconditional love, encouragement, and laughter they experienced at Emeth. She also hopes that they remember that hard work pays off, that risk taking requires confidence, that courage does not mean the absence of fear but the strength in the presence of fear, and that achievement of a goal happens in a series of small steps.

Janet is a safety-certified Professional Member of USA Gymnastics. Her gymnastics background includes gymnastics training at Bodnar-Bell World of Gymnastics for 6 years where she competed in the Junior Olympic Program with both compulsory and optional routines. Janet has coached at Emeth Gymnastics since Fall of 2002, and has attended many USAG State, Regional and National Congresses during that time.
